Hey guys. So I wanted to make a post on the new 82-85 instance in Cataclysm stonecore. This place is by far one of the most challenging plances I have had to heal….. Could be because the hunter stood under falling rocks all the time and in void zones. But yeah.
So first you enter the instance thinking “Oh hey cool. There are rocks and stuff everywhere.” Then you notice that in front of you there is a pack of Twilight hammer guys and one lowly gnome who we have seen in a certain tempest keep instance. Anyhow. CC Is highly reccomended. Unless your heals and tank are insane. I say CC is a must. You go threw maybe…. 4-5 pulls like this. Then you end up seeing a giant stoneworm named. Corborus. This is the first boss of the instance. And I have to say. He is by far the hardest.
Corborus does a few things. 1 being a stacking magic debuff he puts on everyone in the raid. This debuff absorbs ## healing. (It depends) How i handled this was I dispelled it or ran into the group and poped healing hands (Wewt AoE heal) 2nd he will target a random person and start shooting spikes at them. Easy solution. Move out of them like Rotfaces puke. Thats pretty much all phase 1 brings. Phase 2 brings his “Burrow phase”
His burrow phase is actually the part that got us quite a bit. People would not learn to move. First in the phase there are a ton of stonecrab things spawning and attacking. Although they have low health. They hit for quite a bit. 2nd is he will somtimes make dust come up from the ground in a large radius. MOVE AWAY. He is going to jump out and hit for about 20-30k on anyone who got hit and punt you across the room. As a pally I found this boss hard to heal. Especially with the Holy light spamming I need to do. But this fight was incredibly fun.
After downing him. You see a cave to the left of where he was standing. This is the path you need to go to get to Slabhide. A earthen dragon. Slaghide is surprisingly easy to heal. We one shot him with no problems in the slightest. First off. Normal dragon rules. Get away from his tail and his face. Or you will get cleaved or tail swiped. 2nd other than a breath. He puts a lava pool under where the tank is. Just shift him slightly to avoid this. That is all for phase 1. Phase 2 is where he flys into the air and knocks spikes from the ceiling down to the ground. Watch for the shadow and get out of that place. This is only difficult for the healer. Each of these stones are a LoS barrier. So just reposition to heal and repeat.
After downing him you will notice in the distance you see a non eilite Orc female. KILL IT FAST. These are scouts. If they take the time to call it out. They will pull all nearby enemys. We had our DK death grip them as our druid killed them. But a hunter would do nicely too.
After getting threw a room full of scouts and Twilight hammer people. You will see Ozruk. He is a tank and spank. Simple as that. Tank him against a wall. Casters/heals go against the oposite wall. And watch his buffs. He casts one spell that reflects 90% of all Magic spells. So it would be best to wait that out. Then he also does a different spell (I honestly didnt pay much attention to this. But it 1 shot our druid. So maybe I should.) Other than that. Burn him down. Free badge/lootz/puppyz (Ok no puppyz but still)
Now after this boss you come to see High priestess Azil. This boss actually brings the difficulty back. She will have a few spells she uses. This boss did glitch in our favor though. Being there was a hole in the ground in the path her adds come from. What happens in the fight is she will cast Force choke on the tank (Ok thats not the name but still) It will do quite a bit of damage as he slams the tank into the ground. It honestly looked painful. 2nd she will cast void zones. These void zones are more like Halion Shadow realm. If your near them. You get pulled in. The thing about these void zones though is they damage ANY unit except for Azil. Which comes to the next part. Periodicly in the fight followers will run into the room and most likely aggro on the healer. The trick I did. Was I stood behind a void zone. So the adds would run threw and die. But this is just phase 1. Phase 2 is a bit eaisier
In phase 2 Azil will fly in the air and put a shield on herself. Which will reduce damage she takes by 95%. Which means ignore her. The focus of this phase is the ton of adds that will rush toward the group. Use any remaining void zones to kill a few. But if they despawn let the tank pick them up and AoE them down. Azil won’t just let you sit around and kill her followers though. She will make three giant boulders fly around her. And during the phase launch them at a player. There will be a mark where it will land. So just move.
The main difficulty in this place is the damage. The trash actually hits for a lot. The bosses hit for even more. If you can keep up with the damage you win….. But that is stonecore. Hopefully my long post didn’t make everyone angry. If it did. Too bad =)
